Sightseeing by an Amhpibios Bus
August 25-28, 2008
Osaka was developed as a water front city. A newly introduced amphibious bus takes you to the original sightseeing course (80 mins) in Osaka. You will see the Osaka Castle form various angles and enjoy exciting moments when the bus goes into the Ookawa River. Please enjoy views from both streets and the river.
It starts form Grand Cube Osaka on 25-28 and costs 500 Yen. Please reserve your sheets at the Travel Desk at Grand Cube of Osaka.

Awaji Puppet Theater

Osaka was one of the trade and culture centers in Edo period (1603-1867). Bunraku, a traditional dramatic puppet performance, was created in Osaka area during the Edo period.
Awaji Island is the birthplace of Bunraku. The Awaji puppet performance (Ningyo Joruri) has been handed down from father to son through the centuries.
Puppet Theater with the introductory lecture will be open in the evening on August 25 at Grand Cube Osaka. "Ebis-Mai" will be staged. Ebis is a member of Shichi-fuku-jin, which means "Seven Gods of Luck" in Japanese, and "Mai" means a dance. He plays a very auspicious performance. It takes about a half hour, and is free of charge. Please reserve your sheets at the Tour Desk on the 5th floor in advance.
