HPCAT: A Static Compression Science Sector at the Advance Photon Sourcetraining next generation of high-pressure and synchrotronscientists in various scientific fields. To achieve the goals, thebeamlines are configured to be highly versatile and flexibleand allow for switching between multiple techniques so thata diverse user program may be served. Our user programis diverse and comprised of three major efforts:primarymembers that are funded by Department of Energy(DOE)research programs; operation and development time; andsignificant general user program, which receives at least25%of all available experimental time. The general usersprogram coordination and oversight are primarily handledthrough the APS General User Proposal system. 23)We havebeamline scientists responsible for user operations(includingcommunications with users)and new technique development,being supported by technical and administrative staffsconstantly. Furthermore, as noted in the manuscript, HPCAThas a substantial investment in offline support capabilitiesand equipment.
